As real-world assets (RWAs) expand beyond buildings and treasuries into machines, a new frontier is emerging: autonomous physical systems that not only generate revenue but also interact with onchain financial infrastructure. peaq's robotic vertical farm in Hong Kong is one of the earliest live examples showcasing a real machine producing real goods, generating real revenue, and distributing it to token holders. The latest step pushes this further: connecting machine-generated income directly to DeFi via autonomous agents operating through OKX Wallet.
A real revenue-generating robot becomes an onchain trader. The Hong Kong robotic vertical farm grows produce, sells it locally, and has already generated five-figure real-world revenue distributed to 200+ token holders onchain. A proof-of-concept routes a portion of this revenue into an OKX Wallet, where an AI agent (via Teneo Protocol) executes predefined trades on a DEX (MachineX). This demonstrates a full loop: physical production ? revenue ? tokenization ? onchain execution.
Extending the Machine RWA Framework into active financial participation. peaq's Machine RWA Framework defines how machines are tokenized, verified, and structured onchain. This POC goes further by showing how machines can interact with financial infrastructure, not just distribute revenue. Future iterations aim to integrate OKX OnchainOS AI toolkit, enabling agents to autonomously monitor markets, execute trades, and manage transactions across chains.
A scalable architecture for fleets of autonomous economic actors. The system is agent-agnostic, meaning any compatible agent framework can plug into the architecture. As more robots, energy systems, and industrial assets become tokenized, similar flows could scale across entire fleets. Wallets and exchanges may increasingly interface with capital originating directly from autonomous production systems.
This POC is a signal of where the Machine Economy is heading: machines evolving from passive revenue sources into active, autonomous economic agents. By linking real-world production to onchain trading, peaq and OKX demonstrate a future where machine RWAs participate in DeFi, manage liquidity, and interact with financial markets without human intervention. Strategically, this positions peaq as a foundational layer for machine-native capital flows. In addition, this is a beginning of a new category that could grow exponentially as robotics, AI agents and tokenization converge.
